Stainless steel (Chromium-nickel steel)
Stainless steel is a material with brightness close to mirror surface. It’s a relatively avant-garde decorative material with a series excellent corrosion resistance, formability, compatibility and toughness, and it’s used in heavy industry, light industry, daily necessities industry, building decoration and other industries.
Stainless steel is abbreviation of stainless acid-resistance steel. Stainless steel generally refers to steel that is resistant to weak corrosion media, such as air, steam and water, acid-resistant steel is resistant to chemical corrosion media (acid, alkali, salt and other corrosion etching).
In general, steel with the chromium content of more than 12% has the characteristics of stainless steel. Stainless steel can be divided into five categories according to fiber structure after heat treatment: Ferritic stainless steel, Martensitic stainless steel, Austenitic stainless steel, Austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel and Precipitation hardening stainless steel.
Steel plate (Thin slab)
The steel plate is flat rectangular steel that is poured with molten steel and pressed after cooling. In addition to direct pressing, it can also be cut from a wide steel strip. According to rolling points, it’s divided into hot rolling and cold rolling. According to the thickness, the thickness of thin steel is usually less than 4mm (the thinnest 0.2mm), the medium steel plate is 4-60mm and the extra-thick steel plate is 60-150mm. The width of thin plate is 500-1500mm and the thick plate is 600-3000mm.
Strip
The strip has a large length-width ratio and is a metal supplied in rolls. The width more than 600mm is called wide strip, less than 600mm is called narrow strip. The thickness of strip can be as thin as 0.001mm. Strip can be regarded as a steel with a width smaller than that of a plate, and its appearance characteristics, production methods and uses are basically the same as that of plate.
The strip can be produced by hot rolling and cold rolling. The strip produced by hot rolling is thicker, and cold rolling can produce thinner strips with good surface quality, precise dimensions and higher mechanical properties.
