AISI 1215 carbon steel is a re-vulcanized and re-phosphatized free-cutting steel. It is an environmentally friendly material, containing no lead and no substances harmful to the environment.

It is suitable for general electroplating shaft, cutting materials and general parts. AISI 1215 can be directly used for free-cutting steel products due to its accurate precision and good surface condition, such as spraying, sanding, bending, drilling, or direct electroplating after fine drawing according to actual requirements, eliminating processing time and processing machinery costs.

AISI 1215 grade contains carbon as its significant alloying element. 1215 has high sulfur content, so it has good machinability. Some of its alloying elements include chromium, aluminum, chromium, molybdenum, and copper which are present in its composition and contribute to some of its mechanical properties.

C :≤0.09, Mn:0.75-1.05, SI:≤0.10, P: 0.04-0.09, S:026-0.35

Advantages: AISI 1215 free-cutting steel has high sulfur content, good machinability, high plasticity and higher strength.

Mainly used for automatic cutting machine tools to process fasteners and standard parts, such as stud bolts, screws, nuts, pipe joints, spring seats, etc.

Application:

a. Mechanical equipment: woodworking machinery, ceramic machinery, paper machinery, glass machinery, food machinery, construction machinery, plastic machinery, textile machinery, jacks, hydraulic presses, etc.;

b. Electrical product components: motor shaft, fan shaft, sewing machine shaft, etc.;

e. Small hardware parts: such as guide rails, machine keys, nuts, screws, round nails, hexagonal nails, octagonal nails and various standard parts of different specifications, etc.;
