The use of quick opening blind plate

The quick-opening blind plate is a mechanical device that is used on the circular opening of a pressure pipeline or pressure vessel and can be opened or closed quickly. It is composed of safety interlocking mechanism, opening and closing mechanism, rotating arm and short joint (when necessary).

When making the receiving and dispatching tube, one main issue should be considered: the ability to withstand the impact of the pig, that is, safety. The pigs are quickly emptied upon arrival and the pigs can be easily removed. The pipe for the engineering pipeline is used as the ball collecting cylinder, and one size of emptying port is opened at the front end of the cylinder body, so that the pig can be quickly emptied and depressurized after reaching the ball collecting cylinder.

In order to solve the problem of pigs hitting the baffle, the outlet of the ball collecting cylinder should be welded and closed with a thick steel plate. In order to facilitate the removal of the pig, the ball collecting cylinder is divided into two symmetrical semi-circular cylinders, one half of which is fixed by a shaft sleeve, and the other half is welded with a lifting ring and can be opened, so that the pig can be directly taken out with a self-made lifting tool to speed up the construction progress.

Because pigging, caliper and installation of receiving and dispatching cylinders need to be interleaved, it is necessary to make two sets of transmitting and receiving cylinders. The production cost of each set is about 10,000 to 50,000 RMB, which can save about 1.4 million RMB compared to purchasing two sets of transceiver cylinders, and the start date is 20 days in advance.

The practice of pigging and caliper measurement in the Xinjiang section of the West-East Gas Pipeline has proved that the temporary receiving and dispatching of the bulbs is convenient and fast to operate and has good sealing performance. It only takes 20 minutes from opening the blind plate to installing the pig, closing the blind plate, and starting the air compressor. Compared with the simple head, each pig can save 4 hours of installation and disassembly time, and reduce the cutting and tearing of the main pipeline. The influence of welding on the main pipeline reduces the labor intensity, and the use effect is satisfactory.
