Welding method of butt welding flange

There are two methods for the welding of butt welding flange overhead welding: continuous arc method and arc extinguishing method.

　　1. Butt welding flange continuous arc method is an operation method of short arc welding by continuously and regularly swinging the electrode;

　　2. Butt welding flange arc extinguishing method is to extinguish the arc burning at a certain time during the bottom welding, and then ignite and then extinguish, so that the molten pool metal is superposed and formed.

　　 Comparison of the two

　　 Butt welding flange arc extinguishing method can ensure good forming of the bottom welding seam, and can effectively control the welding seam sagging and the top surface concave. The disadvantage is that the welding process is in a discontinuous state, which is prone to defects such as porosity and slag inclusion.

Butt welding flange continuous arc method can make the welding process continuous and can effectively ensure the welding quality, but improper operation method will cause the weld to sag and the surface is concave.

　　Comparing the two welding methods, continuous arc welding is more worthy of promotion. In some industrially developed countries, such as Germany, the United States, Japan, etc., this welding method is required in production.
