What is a flange, what is its role, and what types are there?

Flange is a disc-shaped part, which is a common part in pipeline engineering. Flanges are used in pairs. G9091-150T11U's role is to weld flanges (flat welding or butt welding) at both ends of the steel pipe in the pipeline engineering, used to connect with other flanged steel pipes or valves, pipe fittings, etc. Install a flange on each pipe to be connected. For low-pressure pipes, wire flanges can be used, and for pipes with a pressure of more than 4kg, welding flanges can be used. Add a gasket between the two flanges, and then fix it with bolts. Different pressure flanges have different thicknesses and use different sizes and number of bolts. When the pump and the valve are connected to the pipeline, their ends are also made into corresponding flange shapes, which we call flange connection.

The types of flanges are often divided into two categories: gray cast iron pipe flanges and steel pipe flanges according to the different materials used. Among them, steel pipe flanges are the most widely used.According to their different connection methods with pipes, they are divided into three types: integral type, flat welding type and butt welding type. There are 5 types: convex type, concave-convex type, tenon-groove type, ring connection type. In practice, flat steel flanges are the most used.
