What is a flat welding flange

A flat welding flange is a flange that is connected to the container or pipe by fillet welding. It is an arbitrary flange. When designing, according to the integrity of the connection between the flange ring and the straight section, check the integral or loose flange respectively. Flange rings are available with and without neck. Compared with necked butt welded flanges, flat welded flanges have a simpler structure and save materials, but their stiffness and tightness are not as good as those of necked butt welded flanges. Flat welding flanges are widely used in the connection of medium and low pressure vessels and pipelines.
