Common failures of the filler mainly include four types of pre-tightening force applied to the packing, fastener failure, stem sealing surface damage and filler failure. The reasons for these failures may be as follows.
(1) The pre-tightening force on the packing is too small for the following reasons: insufficient packing, or insufficient filling, or due to wear, aging and improper filling; or due to no pre-tightening gap; or due to the skew and diameter of the press sleeve The pressure is too large on the stuffing box; or the thread is loose, rusted, mixed with impurities, and the thread is blocked when it is tightened.
(2) The reason for the failure of the fastener is: the gland, the nut, the bolt, the ear and other parts are broken; or it is loosened by vibration; or it is damaged by corrosion; or the force is not uniform, the force is too strong Damage to the fasteners is improperly handled; or due to poor maintenance.
